Each crack of that whip was for my mistakes
Blood is on my hands
Each stumble up that hill was my step to take
Blood is on my hands
How do I say thanks for this

In the cross, In the cross, be my glory ever
Till my ransomed soul shall find rest beyond the river

Each tear that flowed was by my sorrow sown
Blood is on my hands
Each drop that was spilled, my debt fulfilled
Blood is on my hands
How can I say thanks for this

Jesus keep me near the cross
There a precious fountain
Free to all, a healing stream flows
From Calvary's mountain

Newly married, new apartment
All out furniture was saved from the dump
Yes dear maybe we can afford a trash can next month

All I need is my love for you and a seat for two

New baby, new life
We will teach him to speak French
We’ve got no money so we’ll make it all ourselves
I’ll make the curtains and you make the shelves

All I need is a power saw and a new sewing machine

Honey, this house needs a little something
That bare mantle doesn’t look so good
Someone told me of a man
Who makes animals from driftwood

Al I need is your monthly bonus for a wooden walrus

Honey, the Colbaughs are coming over
This house needs some renovations
Just a wall or two, just a little room
And a few new decorations

All I need is a sectional and a satellite tv
And dark-wood cabinets that were custom built for me
And a painting by that guy who paints with his feet

That’s all I need
For now

Well it’s Friday night and I’m going to church
I ain’t no nerd but I love the word
So feed me, feed me because I’m starving
Me, G, Noel & Marvin
Hopped in the truck and gassed it up
Went to the sanctuary to see what’s happening
I brought the tracks
“Yo why’d you bring the tracks?”
In case some brothers wanna hear some rap
Because I’m always down rapping the word
Especially to those who have not heard
But anyway man, I walked inside
All of the homeboys get high fives
Sat down and the worship was groovin’
And the Spirit was definitely movin’
And the Word came straight and right
Some people even gave their lives tonight, so
Don’t tell me this ain’t the place to be
Yo – kick in the chorus homie

Can’t wait – to get to church
Can’t wait – to get to church

Well here comes Sunday and I was up late Saturday
So a demon starts whispering to me
Talkin’ about staying in bed and get some rest
But I wasn’t even gonna yield to this
So I got on up, washed my face
Brushed my teeth with crest
So my breath will smell fresh
Took a quick shower and you know what’s next
Clothes Hunt – Bet
Man, I walked in the room and looked around
And all of my clothes were on the ground
I said I can’t go
“Why can’t you go?”
Because at church it’s a fashion show
Or so they say but I ain’t givin’ no damn
‘Cause that’s a lie from a D-E-M-O-N
So I grabbed my sweater, my 501 jeans
Smellies to smell good, combed my hair
About ten minutes I was outta there
Got to da church and the car was slammin’
Yo bro what was that jam they was jammin’
“Jesus is mine” – yeah
I walked in just in time
To claim my seat and hear the Pastor
Preachin’ to the brothers as he tore it up
He was speaking out of sympathy and it was really getting’ to me
Because I need it in my L-I-F-E to make me S-T-R-O-N-G-E-R
I’m not tryin’ to front, I’m not the spiritual star
I need work – and that’s why I was at church
Spendin’ my time but it blew so quick
Talkin’ about a dope service this was it
But ah, after it was over the normal plan
Go to smorgasbord, eat all you can
Noel, Marvin, Dennis & G
I myself & Poetic Lee
God blessed – we did the rest
Sat at the table and reminisced
About the word that we had heard
“Yo was it wack?” – heck no jack
And I can’t wait till Sunday rolls back

Can’t wait – to get to church
Can’t wait – to get to church

Come Sunday it’s the one day that I’m ready to go
Wake up listening to the Gospel mornin’ radio show
Its spiritual warfare so these demons start to fight
But I recite the scriptures that I memorized last night
So I throw on my clothes my comb my cape my skate
Soap and scolders used to wash my face
Rush to the kitchen where the time is bare
Scramble up some breakfast and I’m outta there
Grab the keys, shut the door, and I walk off to
Oops I forgot – Mum I love you
Bam – I get to church just in time
Don’t need to find a parking spot or wait in line
Because my car is always parked about a block away
While my friends save me a seat every Sunday
When I get there they’re always finishing their song
They’re just about to start on the 100th song
So I sit down, sit back and receive the word
Then I get Spirit-filled from what I just heard
It’s me on the bones and tones
I got to take it home
Take a break, buy the tape and wait till I’m all alone
So I can playback, apply it and write that
Notes and quotes and hopes of the right track
So I can live every other day ok
Hey – I can’t wait till Sunday

Can’t wait – to get to church
Can’t wait – to get to church
